SAME CAGE. MORE CHAOS.

The birds behind Bird Burst

Real bird calls bring the parrot's squawk attacks to life. The recordings are hosted with the game, so gameplay does not contact an external sound service.

Real macaw recordings

Macaw Parrot screaming in a park by Félix Blume on Freesound records two macaws flying and screaming close to the microphones in Aclimação Park, São Paulo. It is released under CC0 1.0 Universal.

Bird Burst uses two isolated 0.58-second screams. They were converted to mono MP3, filtered to reduce low-frequency background noise, normalized and faded at the ends. The bird voice is a real recording. Other game cues use synthesized tones. Recording provenance and excerpt details.

Artwork

The original Bird Burst illustrations were generated for this game from art direction based on the supplied tropical torn-paper mockups. The game renders its cage, voxel worlds and animations with PixiJS.
